Don't Forget the Honeymoon!

Brides shouldn't assume that the days leading up to the wedding day will be more stressful than the days that follow; if you are lucky enough to be honeymooning a couple of days following the wedding day, make sure that you're just as prepared for the honeymoon as you are the wedding.

Make sure that you have the correct visas, up-to-date passports and the tickets in plenty of time before you travel. There would be nothing worse than realising your new husband's passport is out of date the day before you travel!

Nearer the wedding day, ensure that you have purchased everything you will need for your honeymoon, be that new clothes through to sun cream and other toiletries. And don't forget currency - by purchasing it in advance you will be able to shop around for the best rates, rather than just having to accept the rate of the Bureau de Change at the airport.

If you have the time and space, it is also worth thinking about packing for the honeymoon before the big day itself, otherwise you will spend your first few days as newlyweds sifting through your wardrobe and filling your suitcase! But remember that if you're having videographers/photographers come round to your house on the morning of the wedding to capture the bridal party preparations.

And as simple as it sounds, that's it really! Your first few days as a new Mr and Mrs should be spent sipping champagne, eating wedding cake and opening wedding gifts. With a bit of simple preparation, you can make sure that this is the case, and your first few days as newlyweds can be spent having fun rather than stressing out, while you look forward to the next adventure ahead of you: your honeymoon!
